The distinctive feature of this Weihenstephaner Special Editions is the late hopping with the Australian hop “Galaxy” and the fermentation with two top-fermenting, classical Bavarian yeasts and a wine yeast to bring this fine beer to a close.

On tap at Thornbridge Den Bosch. Slightly hazy, golden orange with a medium large, creamy, tan to white head. Sweetish-fruity aroma of honey, clove and orange. Sweetish, fruity-malty taste of peach, honey, vanilla and clove, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, creamy and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not overly interesting, quite sweet but still very enjoyable. Would have expected a bit more fruit.

Tap @ In de Wildeman, small sample. Hazy golden to orange color, short head. Aroma of banana, clove, tropical fruit, citrus. Soft bitter in taste, bit sweet. Slightly more hoppy and malty than a regular one.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear rusty orange to copper color, average to medium sized good lacing off-white head. Aroma is a bit faint, or perhaps the beer is too cold. Taste is sweet, lightly yeasty, a hint of banana, soft sweetish grains. Medium body, a bit fizzy carbonation.
