330ml bottle. Black colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Fruity, dark malty aroma, hints of raspberry and other red berries, dark chocolate, a touch of mocha. Taste is dry dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, mocha, hints of red berries and their parings, a touch of chalk and cardboard in the finish; lively carbonation.

Roasted malt aroma. Flavour has mix of bitter roasted malt but also a fresh, sweet fruity feel (blackcurrant?). Finish is dry and bitter.

Huge brown-tan head, slowly receding over brown-black beer. Volatile, but remarkable fruity-light sweetish aroma as from billberries. After that, rather sweet-roasted flavour, as dark soft candi sugar, molasses, (scorched) syrup. Roasted peanuts. More classical flavours in the taste: roasted/burnt grains and malts, restricted amount of restsugars; roasted nuts. Overall rather sweet, little bitterness. Bit ashes retronasal, warming up, coffee. Feels probably better bodied than it really is; grist-like slickness. Sweeti-ish stout, decent.

33cl bottle from HopDuvel.
