The Sampler, tap: Pours reddish with a small head. Aroma is wood, wine, and vinegar. Taste is mostly woody, with some vinous notes, but really not too many. Sourness is really light ans subdued. The background flavour is alright, but it is sadly still a background flavour. This should have been amped up more.

I don’t know what it is but Silly is just a brewery I always want to like. Mayybe its the labels, maybe its the name, or maybe its their "can-do" attitude towards brewing. Been looking to pick this up since I heard it came out. 11.2oz bottle poured at a 90 degree angle into an Oerbier Reserva glass, which leads to a thick head covering half the glass. It fades at an average rate leaving a bit of lacing on the glass. Color is brownish red, very hazy, medium clarity. Aroma has a foundation of dusty and earthy malts as spikes of sour cherry pop out. There is a faint dirty diaper but very low on acetic and an earthy mild sourness. Flavor is a cleaner flavor than expected. Malts are rather neutral as a sharp tart and slightly sour shines. Light cherry flavor starts and ends with a tart earthy cherry juice. Really nice flavor, super drinkable, clean, ends refreshingly. Real good abv for this beer. Maybe the best Silly beer to date? Not sure why so much hate for this beer.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of sour cherry, cherry skin, apple, grape, raisin, oak, clove, red wine, white vinegar, hay, straw, light leather, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity and balance of yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of sour cherry, cherry skin, grape, apple, pear, raisin, oak, clove, light pepper, red wine, white vinegar, hay, straw, light leather, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart cherry, apple, grape, pear, raisin, oak, clove, light pepper, red wine, white vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of yeast ester flavors; with a good sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and lightly acidic mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Flanders red ale. Good complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Draft at Churchkey. Poured a ruby color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some funk notes, sweet red wine character, with some barrel. Funky tartness. Not as pleasant as I had hoped it would be - a bit off somewhere in there.

Draft at Churchkey. Clear light ruby color, off white edge head. Aroma of peppery mud and dirt from the bottom of your shoes. Taste is dirty fruit. Evil.
