18/11 Sampled at the brewpub. It poured hazy dark reddish-brown body with medium sized beige head. Sourish, quite hoppy aroma, over caramel based malt. Mostly roasted malt, coffee, burnt bread, touch of caramel and toffee. Medium body with slightly longer, coffee and herbal hop dryer finish. More schwarzbier than a dunkel, it was nice, though some strange note, probably hops, all the way through it was quite disturbing me. Pleasant one anyway.

Malzig-röstiger Antrunk, die Röstigkeit als stärkstes Aroma wird schnell mild, spät auch wässrig. Lasch, zum Ende langweilig. 10/6/7/6//6

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a lacing light tan head. Solid roasted malt and liqourice accent. Flavour is dry and of roasted malt and liqourice. Ends dry and roasted with a mild acidity lurking through and light liqourice into the finish.

Chestnut brown. Toasty, coffeeish character. Very chocolatey, with light munich dark malt character. Perhaps a bit thinner in the finish than I would like, but otherwise good tmave.

Draught at the brewpub. Roasty, caramel and coffee aroma, slighty creamy. Big roasty flavor, big time licorice, some coffee. Not very sweet. Roasty, woody, finish, clean, crisp, smooth with slight cocoa and cream. Nice.

On tap at Pivovarský Dum, Prague on 7th July 2010. Dark brown/red, almost black with diminishing yellow-tinged off white foam. Malty with caramel notes which are not overly sweet. Becomes drier in the mouth with quite a bitter satisfying finish, on a zingy mouthfeel. Very easy to drink, and an engaging texture.
