Daypack is a hoppy pale ale inspired by the beers we love to take with us on long hikes and treks with one end goal, hoppy refreshment. With a malt bill consisting solely of our base two-row malt, and Marris Otter pale ale malt from England, Daypack remains bone dry with a background of simple bready notes. Its Citra heavy dry hop creates a medley of tropical and dank flavors that jump right out of the beer, only to be followed up with hoppy notes of lemon and orange zest. Truly a pale ale best paired with a sunny day.

From tap at the brewery. Clear golden color with white to off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, bread, grass, citrusy fruity, grapefruit, tropical fruits. Sweet and bitter taste. almost medium oily body with soft carbonation.

On tap at fieldwork pours out a Crisp pale straw topped with a white head. Nose is dank grassy hops and some bread malts. Taste is more of nice dank hops earthy notes and some grapefruit pithy bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is hop forward with a nice tropical fruit and citrus profile. Pineapple, mango, orange and tangerine. Light melon notes with a bit of resin. Light cracker malt notes in the background. Pours a clear, bright gold with a small, white head that recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a medium light cracker malt note. Medium high bitterness. Medium high hop flavors with citrus and resin. Lighter tropical fruit notes. Orange, grapefruit, pine. Light mango and pineapple. Lingering resin and bitterness. A touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA. Well balanced hop characteristics with a decent malt backbone. Perhaps a bit too resinous and bitter for me.

Draft. Golden beer with a cream head. Tropical fruit and grapefruit aroma. Tropical fruit and grapefruit flavor with light grain. Medium bodied. Tropical fruit and light grapefruit lingers with grain.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of citrus zest, and light fruits. Med body. Flavor is mildly dank with lots of citrus and some light stone fruit. Decently bitter. Tasty.

Tap. Pours clear pale golden straw, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma is light, tropical, passionfruit, a bit of onion, spruce. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, watery, muted hops. Light body, does not live up to the promise of the aroma.
