This is our special Valentine’s Day beer! It is brewed once a year and available a little before and after Valentine’s Day. It’s fruity and spicy from the Belgian yeast, and a nice, lingering and flavorful finish.

Draught @ Russian River, Santa Rosa, CA

Pours dark reddish brown with a smooth head. Aroma of earthy notes, malts, yeast and some ripe fruits. Taste is smooth, sweet syrupy, roasty and earthy with some malts and yeast. Finish is smooth, hoppy and roasty with some syrup, earthy notes. A bit strange, feels like a brown ale.

Keg at Russian River, Sana Rosa, 27/04/14. Dark chestnut brown with a moderate light tan covering that retains well. Nose is toffee, dark malt notes, candied fruit rinds, dates, stoned fruits. Taste comprises frui loaf, spice, stoned fruits, figs, caramel. Mediu bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok well made Belgian stylee, not standout but doesn’t get to sweet nor did I lose interest in it.

On tap at Russian River, pours a deep dark amber / mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, Belgian yeast, a little candied sugar, and powdery cocoa. Flavour brings out notes of powdery cocoa, a little roast, some light Belgian yeast, and burnt caramel. Exceptionally smooth and complex, with lots of depth. Most excellent.

On tap at Pi Bar for the RRB SF beer week event. Pours a reddish-black with nice taupe head. Nice roast and even some hop on the nose. I do not get a lot of Belgian yeast here - seems more like an attempt at a CDA. Great roast and bitterness on the flavor. Very good.
