On tap at Prohibition Pig Brewery, pours a deep dark brown with a tiny beige head. Aroma brings out gentle vanilla beans upfront, with light toasted malt. Flavour is also more tempered on the vanilla than many other vanilla-infused beers, with the vanilla showing itself subtly upfront, backed with a dry toasted malt base. Dry and lacking much depth, but it's competently made. Solid.

Draft at Pro Pig, 16 oz pour spilt 2 ways. Aroma and flavor are a mirror reflection. Good roasted backbone, chocolate, vanilla is balanced. No one flavor overwhelms the palate. Dry roasted texture. Mild vanilla finish that barely lingers. Body is on the fuller side of a porter. Real nice overall.

Crowler kindly shared by Maakun at kermis’. Thanks! Black with light tan head. Deep roasted chocolate malts, black malts, deep roasted coffee, some earthy mushroom, vanilla. Light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium malty body, bit watery, decent soft carbonation. Nice tasty juicy coffee porter. --- Beer merged from original tick of Vanilla Bean Porter on 09 Jan 2018 at 13:20 - Score: 8

Crowler shared. Very dark brown with small beige head. Loads of coffee, vanilla, dry cocoa notes, some toffee and roasted notes. Soft mineral notes. Light sweet and under medium bitter. Just medium bodied with dry and light watery feel. Very good, really like this.

Half pint at Pro Pig.
The appearance was a nice dark brown color with a slim foamy little head that dissipated at a nice pace leaving some light spider web lacing running here and there around the glass.
The smell started off with roasty smooth coffee, cocoa beans and balancing in was the vanilla.
The flavor was basically the same with the sweetness of the vanilla bean coming forth just a tad more than in the smell.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping to sessionable quality about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing a subtle sweet to roasty notes to engrave their mark on my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good porter showing the creativity of the brewer to bring in something slightly different. Nice job, I’d have again.
