Our dark beer is brewed in the style of Munich dark, known as dunkel, the original style of Bavarian villages. A beer rich in flavors from roasted malts, revealing notes of caramel, chocolate and coffee. The hops add a moderate bitterness that balance out perfectly with the mild sweetness from the malt.

Tap (Cretan Brewery, Zounaki). Aromat ubogi jak przy koncerniaku ciemnym, natomiast smak bogaty, czekolada, kawa, karmel, leciutkie w odbiorze, bardzo pijalne.

Taster, brewery. Dark brown, medium and ok lasting beige head. Medium roasted coffee nose, slight chocolate. Milder bitterness, gently roasted, hints of sweetness. Lighter body. Gently roasted aftertaste with some coffee.

On tap at Bibere Beer House, Pireas, Nr Athens, Monday 7th September 2020 planning on getting the boat to Sifnos tomorrow morning. Pours dark,dark brown with a light cappuccino coloured head. Nutty, malty, nice light, light roast, a little chocolate, really good Dunkel.

tap at hennie's, a new beer bar in platanias (west of chania, crete). hazy brown, smooth beige head. slightly fruity, light roasted malty aroma. fruits are mostly dark dried fruits. flavor is roasted malty, mild roasted flavor, nutty, end has a bit of charred wood, taste is in fact pretty good, if you like a roasted dark beer that is not at all a stout, more southern european in style. tastes a bit like a somewhat roasted german bock

Draft at Crop, Heraklion, Greece. Pours pretty dark (but light is bad), with a moderate head of brownish foam. Aroma is weak of coffee. Body is average with intense carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, with average roast bitterness. Finish is fairly short.

5/12/2018. Draft at Barley Cargo, Athens. Pours mahogany brown with an average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and dried fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Roasted finish.

250ml draught at Ali Vafi’s Garden. Deep, near-black body, beige head, dotted spots on the glass. Mild roasted malty aromas, mid-sweet. Brittle caramel, liquorice, and prunes to the taste buds. Roasted malty finish. Medium bodied. Decent version of the style. (11.06.2017).
