Wer gerne scharfe BIere mag: gerne. Aber meines ist es nicht.

Bottled from Brewery. Golden color with medium white head. Fruity, malty aroma with honey hints. Taste, malt, red fruit, maybe apple and pear. And than you receive a big portion of chilli. I like chilli more in Chilly con Carne than in beer.

Bottle at Torben Mathews tasting. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Cloudy dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Slightly acetic notes. Light bitter initial flavor. Here is beer still present but then the chili kicks in and spoils eveything. Way too burning and unpleasent. Have I mentioned this before: I hate chili in beer!!!!!!! Torben you must be desturbed to think this is a good beer. Oh wait.....

Torben Marhews tasting. Nice head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are dominated by chili, but behind the chili there are some malt and grass as well.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild butterish and malty. Distinct chili flavoured. Overly heavy chili bite. Not my thing. Burning. High umami effect.

Draught at the brewpub
Hazy blond color. Nice malt aroma. The flavor is suddenly killed by a medium but stingy chili action. Impossible to rate further (luckily I had it at last); the base beer is a good one, as usual for 7 Stern, but the result is just for the fun of the young crowds...

On tap at the brewpub in Vienna, July 09. A very special beer. In all honesty it was way too spicy. I like spicy food, but not spicy beer.

Draught, 5.1% at the brewpub. Hazy dark yellow colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is chili all the way through from the first sensation to the long burning aftertaste. Very hot, must be the hottest chili beer I ever had. Burns my throat. Too much.

swing top bottle (500ml).-courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog (thanks!)
My second Austrian chilli beer. Cloudy yellow/pale orange coloured (similar to Hanf), medium sized white head, dusty, light peppery nose. Bready, light malty and hoppy with sharp chili taste. Burning lingering notes in the throat and long lasting aftertaste. Uhhh, I love chilli. Decent chilli beer, but I still prefer Dombräu Chili.

0.5l bottle brought from Vienna by a friend (thanks Ivana!) Aww, my third chilli beer, how cute. Poured a yellow/orange murky body with a thick white medium sized head that went away slowly. Weak nose, but with evident peppers. The base beer turns out to be quite bready, with some lemony hoppy notes trying to be refreshing in spite of their surroundings. And then the big chilli burn wipes everything clean and stays there for awhile. It wasn’t as offensive as the Dom Brau one for me, but it certainly didn’t change my mind about these beers.
