Aroma has metal, some malt and syrupy notes. Flavour feels ashy with some roasted notes, syrup and liver casserole. No signs of mämmi here. Laitila should just keep out from the dark side of lagers...

Draught at Olutkellari Helsinki. Poured a very dark red body, nearing black with a slightly off white head. Odd nose, dark malts, caramel? Wha? Sweetish taste, liquorice, cardboard... salmiakki but without the saltiness? Eh. Not that good a beer.

Bottled (from Alko). Very deep ruby red colour with small beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, some alcohol, mild grainyness as well as some slight raisiny notes. Flavour is sweet raisinlike notes, some slight bready notes, mild earth as well as some slight sourish-ryelike notes.

Bottled (BB 10/2010)
Dark deep ruby-brown color, small off-white head. Twisted "muddy yeasty", rye bread, raisin & liver casserole aroma. Flavor is quite similar to lighter version: raisins, rye, liver casserole, harsh toasted malty notes. Like a strong kvass. Doesn’t feel 6%. I have to agree, mämmi and beer don’t match.
