Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, grain and a bit of smoke as well. Medium-bodied; Nice rich toasted malt flavour with a large amount of pit fruit and molasses sweetness. Aftertaste shows a nice smoked and very dry flavour with a lot of pit fruits and earth to sweeten up the finish. Overall, a nice doppelbock from Hungary and definitely well worth trying if you are here and can find it! I sampled this 50 cL swing-top bottle purchased earlier in the day on 24-March-2016 from Mindig Hazai in Budapest, Hungary for 990HUF sampled in my apartment hotel in the evening on 24-March-2016, with a best by date on the bottle of 01-November-2016.

On tap @ F?zdefeszt 4. Brown body with a beige head. Coffee and caramel aroma. The flavor is like the aroma, caramel and a hint of coffee with some toast. Not bad, but it’s not the best beer from this brewery for me.

Draught at Főzdefeszt III, Budapest. Murky amber coloured, small off-white head, hint of fruits in the nose. Moderate malty, fruity and some caramel with hint of smoke in rather short sweet finish. Average but drinkable.

Draught at the F-Fest. Poured a murky brown body with an off white/tan head. Malty, fruity nose, some raisins. The taste is slightly tangy, raisins pop up again, some soap, yoghurt, and, what’s most important, no alcohol really. A nice beer, though nothing too special.
