Perscription is a light beer of the ale type. It got its name when we were discussing the health benefits of buckwheat and buckwheat beer among friends and somebody joked that the beer should be available by prescription. It is made for the modern, health-conscious beer lover who wants to taste all the richness of the natural buckwheat flavor, it contains a low level of alcohol (4.3%) and has a slightly bitter, honey-fruity taste.

0,5 l bottle, brewed at Pivovarna Hopsbrew. Pours hazy yellow with huge, rocky forever lasting white head. Aroma is light, citrus hops notes, soapy, some buckwheat. Taste is low sweet and low bitter bitter. Body is very light, carbonation is high, but not annoying. Finish starts soapy and ends bitter soapy. All together it's very soapy and it ruins it, otherwise it could be decent novelty beer.

At Brežice festival. Pours hazy yellow, small white head. Grainy, buckwheat, sourish, bitter finish. Very light. Not good whatsoever.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy straw color with medium frothy white head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of buckwheat, yeast and honey. Taste starts moderate sweet bready, follows yeasty, grassy and honeyish with rather dry mouth feel and mild bitter finish. Light body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. I might be weird, but I kinda’ liked this one :)

On tap or bottle at Ljubljanski Festival Piva 2015. Shared with Marko. Pale golden coloured, small white head, pretty high carbonation, almost neutral nose. Slight grainy and buckwheat with dryish finish..That’s it and let’s say pretty ok for G-Free beer.

Pours a slightly hazy darker golden color, topped with small white head. Quite stron ggrainy aroma - naturally buckwheat. Taste is sweet with lots of grainy notes, buckwheat watered down a bit. Mild bitterness in finish. Could be worse.

Ljubljanski Festival Piva 2015. Really cool that they have started exploring this niche too. Not too many beers with this concept on the market. And buckwheat is, perhaps, an underused quasi-grain around these parts. Anyway, this poured a murky golden body. Sweetish malty aroma, buckwheat evident immediately. Sweet, slightly dirty banana notes, dryish, more buckwheat, lighter. Not bad, not great. If I had to avoid gluten entirely, I could think of worse choices.
