Bottle, 750 ml from Vrutak, Zagreb. Pours dark brown with small off-white head. Caramel, sweet, dark fruit, bit spicy. Bit sourish. Cannot get wood, oak or notes one would expect from barrel aged beer. Alcohol is not well subdued, bit too aggressive for me. Expected more really.

At a tasting, thanks, almost no head, cloudy dark brown color, aroma of vanila, cake and candy with some nuttiness, flavor made of biscuity maltiness, dried fruits and candy but not Belgian like, really suprising sourness, a bit out of place. Very interesting but also quite difficult to drink.

Bottle sample at my (post-)10,000th rating celebration tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Tom L. Dark brown. Aroma of caramel, toast, wood, dark fruits, wine, a bit of pralines, a vanilla hint. Sweet-sourish flavor with caramel, wood, dark fruits, wine, a bit of vanilla. Medium-bodied. Nice.

swing top bottle 750ml. -from Vrutak Zagreb. Almost black coloured, medium sized brown head, pleasant light spicy fruity nose. Moderate malty, quite strong dried fruits and plums with moderate strong alcohol presence. Also some caramel presence. No barrel character at all. Wasted 10€ for nothing.

0.75 l bottle ogivlado kindly shared on the tasting, thanks a lot! It poured hazy dark brown body with small head. Weak aroma, had some hops, wood, brown sugar, burnt sugar also, not in that particular order of prominence. Flavor was similar, sweet caramel, roasted malt, coffee, some burnt caramel but also wood was very evident to me. Had some spices but not too much to make it more interesting. Alcohol was also felt rather much. Medium bodied with long sweetish, pretty simple and alcoholic finish. All together not really well executed barley wine, at contrary. Then if you add the high price into the account disappointment gets bigger. Too bad, the brewery had their moments with specials.

Piwo takie sobie ogolnie. piekne opakowanie ale niezbyt piekne piwo. Slodkawe daktylowe ze srednia piana koloru brazowego metnego. Slodowosc bierze gore. Piwo bardziej przypomina bardziej abbaye dubbel niz barley wine. Alkohol lekko wyczuwalny i uderzajacy do glowy. Ta limitowana butelka i etykieta robi wieksze wrazenie niz sam smak tego piwa.

Bottle kindly shared by Croatian crew, many thanks. Dark red brown color with medium beige head. Strong fruity aroma with plums, and alcohol. Taste, plums, other red fruits, honey, roasted malt. Something is wrong with this beer.
