Jan. 17. On tap at Leopold's. Later bottled, 0.5 l. It poured a hazy golden body with a small to medium head. Light chinook aroma, some citrus and herbs plus spicy with very light biscuit-bready malty note underneath. Flavor was bitter, especially at first. Hop character that aroma suggested was wholly retained here and nicely blended in with the mentioned malty note. Medium body with a pleasant, longer finish. Quite fine, although meant as an upgrade of the regular Barba pale ale, which is good itself, it turned out better on a completely new level.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of spices, pine needles, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, pine needles, straw, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear copper pour with minimal white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Nose is medium malty, a bit grassy, medium earthy hops. Medium body with soft carbonation. Texture is smooth, slick and oily. Moderately bitter taste, gets a bit more intense towards the finish. Aroma is a bit malty with pronounced earthy hops presence. Grassy, herbal. Touch of honey. Mouthfeel is mostly dry. Regular finish with lasting lingering bitterness. Not bad, but I like the original better. Still a good brew, though.

On tap at Hop In Zagreb. Orange/golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, pleasant herbalish hoppy nose. Sweet malty, herbal/citric hoppy, mild notes of oranges and pleasant bitter/sweet hoppy finish and aftertaste. Nice one.

On tap at Hop In Craft Bar, Kanal, Zagreb, I think. Hazy golden, small off-white lasting head. Medium hopped, pines and herbs, nice hop profile without a lot of complexity, malty and toasty background. Light at first, becomes moderate bitter. Light to medium body, quite drinkable, medium carbonation, moderate hoppy finish, pleasant retro-nasal hoppiness. No exaggeration, no flaws, nice Chinook profile.

On tap at Leopold’s, Split, shared with heavy. Poured a hazy golden-amber body. Somewhat musty herbal citric hoppy aroma, vague pine, mixing with the nice sweet dough maltiness that characterizes Barba. The taste is all about the hops, it’s light and lean perhaps in a way, but the soft sweet dough notes are still there, and the herbal/citric hoppiness builds up and up while going through a genuinely pleasant finish into a full hoppy aftertaste, tasty. Yup, a nice upgrade of Barba. This series should rock - especially when they get to some hops I prefer to Chinook. In any case - very good job guys! :)
