This pitch black oatmeal stout is as rich and complex as they come, but as smooth as chocolate milkshake.
Smoky, coffee and cacao aromas lead into rich chocolate ganache, bitter espresso and cocoa powder, with a warming plum brandy hit and a roasty bitter finish that balances out the chewy sweetness, while a liquid honeycomb mouth-feel lifts the bitterness and lets the vanilla shine through.
Malts: Carafa, Chocolate, Crystal, Flaked Oats, Pale, Wheat
Hops: Bramling Cross, Sorachi Ace, Willamette

Pours dark, almost black and sticky, bit of brown foam. Looking delicious, like fresh brewed coffee. Aroma is vinous, some cocoa, I am also getting some smoked leather, horse saddle. Sweet dark fruits also playing in the background. Taste is roasty, bitter, has some vinous notes and actually not that sweet overall. Bitter chocolate on steroids, made soft and quaffable with lactose. Alcohol is coming through just before the finish, leaving some smoked roast and bitter-sweaty leather lingering. Surprisingly well balanced, nice sipper (although I am drinking it faster than I should) and all-around solid brew.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Intense ripe dark fruit, plums, some candy and marshmallows. Heavy body, fruity still. Feels barrel aged but isn’t. Fizzy carbonation, boozy palate. Good balance. Incredible!

Opaque dark brown beer, decent dark tan head. Airy palate, smooth and with modest fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts, little dark chocolate. Mild alcohol spice. A little dark fruits. Smooth finish. Rich but lacking complexity.

Bottle, 330 ml at Pivkan, shared with Miro and Kova. Pours black with light brownish head. Roasted malts, chocolate, some vanilla. Sweet, but not overly. Not that complex, but very drinkable.
