Draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours reddish brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel, malts, toffee, overripe dark fruits and light raisins. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

From tap. Pours dark brown with a deep orange glare and a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, almost liqourice. Toasted, sweet, malty and light breadish. Roasted malt, dry impression. Light bitter finish.

Draft. A red-brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread, caramel, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is light.

On tap at Sir William’s Pub Ljubljana. Brownish coloured, medium sized cappuccino head, coffee and whiff of smoke in the nose. Roasted malt, coffee, caramel, brown sugar and dried fruits with notes of hops and milk chocolate in the finish. Slightly vinous also. Again not the freshest keg I suppose.

On tap today at Sir William’s Pub, Ljubljana, Slovenia. 0.25 glass. Dark brown with orange tint, a bit light for a stout. Small off white head, to small, but lasting. Fruity aromas, where one would expect coffee and milky aromas. Maybe even tropical. Feels like a stout when you begin to drink, quite dry on the palate, somewhat light body, red fruits maybe, nicely hopped. Dry woody finish. Very interesting and to my taste, but maybe out of style. Not sure if it’s supposed to be a kind of a hybrid style.

Draught (Cafe Abseits, Bamberg) - Dark brown with red tinges. Roasted and fruity aroma with cherries, brown sugar and malt. Roasted, slightly hoppy and moderately sweet yaste with spezi, chocolate and roasted malt.

Draught @ Akkurat, Stockholm Pours dark brown with a smooth white head. Aroma of malts, nutty notes, caramel, toffee, hints of roastiness and coffee. Taste is roasty, malty and nutty with some caramel, toffee and syrup. Finish is lingering nutty and bitter with loads of malts, bready notes, grassy hops and some roastiness. Pretty intense but balanced too. Great stuff. Kind of a weird German version of a black IPA.

Vollmundig malziger Beginn mit etwas stehendem Hopfen. Dezent rauchige Noten, der Hopfen steigt, wirkt aber im Mittelteil weniger stechend, die Malzigkeit steigt dagegen und gleicht das Malz aus. Zum Ende sehr trocken und deutlich bitter. Nicht sonderlich süffig aber dennoch gelungen. 12/9/8/10//11
