Oh, the sweet-roasty-creamy goodness of the first cup of the coffee of the day! This is the same, but it's a beer. The mix of oats, rye malt, caramel and dark roasted barley malts gives this beer that rich chocolaty taste with just a shade of bitterness. Lactose interlaces the layers of coffee and toastiness and provides the same smooth and silky mouthfeel. It is as deeply satisfying as your morning cuppa. Bottle ordered from Sophie's Beer Store, Shrewsbury. Aroma had coffee, chocolate, porridge. The stygian body radiates darkness like an orc conscript. Foamy beige head. Medium. Bitter. Tangy. But with a big sweet streak. Coffee, Molasses and dark berries. Then develops a creamy element to the finish. Thick bodied. Oily. Flat-average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Decent. Has character.
