Both malt & hops start off subtly but build as you get into it, developing into a marmalade character in the finish. At 6.5% abv and 70 bitterness units, this is big beer and a classic English rendition of the style.

On Tap at Volo
Good amount of citrus, and hops, kinda one dimensional, seems like there is some lat lacking, and I did find it a tad wattery. A good IPA, but really, i wasn’t blown away like i was expecting from everything i’ve read. There are other breweries in Ontario making better IPA’s.

Thanks Sandi! Can at Svijet Piva. Misty amber body, white head. Dry caramel aroma. Dry caramel taste, sweet, full sweet maltiness, vaguely fruity, dull herbal bitterness buried underneath... No. Just wrong. Hope I try it fresh sometimes...

Bottle from LCBO in Ottawa. Clear dark amber copper pour, minimal head. Aroma is mostly toffee bread malt, not much hops. Taste has some piney bitterness but again mostly bread/toffee malt. Some lasting bitterness. Not great but not bad.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear medium copper with a tiny off white head that disappears quickly. Nose is mostly biscuit and light toffee with only a slight floral note. Medium light toffee over light bitter hops. Medium oily mouth with slightly soft carbonation. Drinks more like an ESB than an IPA.

Pours a clean copper colour with a frothy light-beige head, great retention and thick foamy lacing. Mostly smells like a irish red ale (caramel, hop) with hints of grapefruits in the background. Also in the back, some apples, burnt wood and nuts. The hops comes out more in the taste with a nice mild bitterness and dryness in the finish. Still, lots going on in the far end. Quite interesting actually. Very nice rendition of the classic style.

(500mL from the LCBO) Poured cool, a deep brown amber with a 2cm fine cream head that left lots of lacing. Aroma is malty, honey and caramel with earthy, faintly pine hops. Flavour fairly sweet initially, bready, grainy and complex malts but promptly balanced by hop bitterness, but not a lot of flavour to go with. Finishes quite bitter. Slick, oily and mouth-filling, a very malt-driven IPA.

Pours an amber colour with not too much head. Aroma of honey with the hoppy bitters. Tastes reminiscent of their Galt Knife, with more hops. Actually fairly diverse. Bottle
