For this year’s Rainbow Project collaboration with Garage Project we drew the colour indigo. After much research on both sides the idea that excited us all most was that of the Blacklight Banana. Ripe bananas uniquely glow bright indigo under UV lights, one possible reason for this being that it identifies them as a food source for animals that see in the UV range, like bats. Molasses, Caramelised Bananas, Banana Purée and Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee Beans elevate this beer to something special. Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hopy slightæly smoked aroma. Moderate biter flavor. Smoke and very week banana notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. not my kind of IS.

330 ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Dark brown to black color with beige brown head. Malty aroma, light roasted, cocoa, chocolate, caramel, light fruity, some metallic notes in the beginning. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma with milk chocolate addition. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty spicy ripe banana aroma. Roasted malty caramel and spicy banana flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel and banana finish.

Bottle @ Kernel tap takeover at van Moll, small sample. Dark color, short frothy head. Aroma of roast, licorice, slight overripe banana, bit spicy. Bit malty bitterness, slight sweet in taste. Mediocre.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 12/09/2017, batch# G634. Brune foncée, col café au lait fin crémeux. Arôme au nez fin malté, avec cet effet de banane en purée et un léger rétro de café/grillé en rétro-nasal. Caramel reste léger avec un bouquet tirant vers l’épais, forte note de mélasse. Palais est malté, fin chocolaté avec un effet banane qui arrive en retrait et donne ce caractère banana fudge. Douceur vanille laissant peu transparaitre le côté Bourbon. Purée, épais niveau du palais venant de la mélasse. Correcte mais ce n’est pas la Wells Banana Bread.

Draught @ Van Moll. Opaque black color, average sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, light brown candy sugar. Taste malts, quite sweet, a bit weird. A bit dry and soft roast. Hmm not convinced.
