Apr. '17. On tap at Leopold's, Split. It poured a hazy orange body with a medium sized head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits and wet caramel hops/yeast combo. Flavor was lightly sweet, citrus (sweet orange) driven with touch of pine. Caramel malty base. Medium bodied with shorter, very lightly dry finish. Expected more, but this is admittedly well within boundaries of the style.

Hazy golden, small off-white head. Mango and tropical aromas with some mint. Balanced, hoppy with some fruitiness. Smooth, medium body, soft carbonation, hoppy finish. Really nice.

On tap at Craft Room, couple occasions, one of them was the first day, fresh keg. Pours hazy yellow with medium white head. Citrus, dank, onion, some citrus notes, grapefruit. At start leaves bitterness in aftertaste, almost no bitterness in the middle. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. I don’t find it that easy to drink. Can see what this was supposed to be but for me lacks in aroma which is a bit short lasting and not that intensive and bitterness (not sure why 35 IBU?). Also I feel it’s lacking juiciness, too much of the dank/onion character which makes it not easy to drink. Should not be put on the same page as Heady, not the same quality or profile. Certainly innovative and good, especially for Croatian standards, but not a great beer by any means. Second tasting and some UK NE IPAs I’ve recently tried confirmed my conclusions.

On tap at the brewery. Unclear golden coloured, medium sized white head, citrusy fruity nose. Moderate malty, citrusy hops, dank, light spices and mild yeasty with pretty strong bitterness. Fruity hoppy finish and long-lasting bitter aftertaste. Again decent The Garden beer.

Draft at Leopold’s in Split. An unclear golden beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of hops, exotic fruits, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, spices, and exotic fruits, leading to a bitter finish

At the brewery (thanks Nick!). The official presentation is on Wednesday, but I was lucky to be invited to try it in advance, and it’s very much ready. Poured a murky orange body with a creamy, lasting white head. Piney, dank, resinous creamy, slightly yeasty aroma, light notes of onion perhaps later on. This is inspired by Heady Topper (and uses the same yeast) and it’s obvious. Creamy taste, really smooth, silky and creamy resin, pine, tangerine, light onion perhaps, but less than in the aroma. Some earthy, even slightly chocolatey notes kinda break through underneath and are well integrated. Simply lovely, very drinkable and refreshing. A winner and so far the best Croatian beer of 2017.Edit: Hahahaha, seems the official description added subsequently was in part inspired by my rate. Potentially a first! :D
