The BALTIC PORTER beer is dedicated to the King of the Ostrogoths, Theodoric the Great. When he came to Italy with his army in 500 AD he reached Verona, where he defeated the Goths of Odoacer. And from that moment, a long period of peace and prosperity began. King Theodoric the Great didn’t belong to the Scaligeri family, but he loved Verona so much that he lived there for a long period and built a beautiful castle on the Adige riverbanks.

The low fermentation BALTIC PORTER beer is brewed with the decoction mashing method. This black coloured beer has aromas of toffee, cocoa and coffee and a well-balanced, full-bodied and smooth mouthfeel.

I Draught /I Good tan head; black beer. Nutty, walnut cake, sweet, portwine, roast. Sweet-dry, hay, straw. Mild roast in the flavour, bit of charcoal. Some fruity esters too. Bit burning MF, medium carbonation, quite slick, gristslick. Tad sweet, no? Long-lasting flavours, good, but for a Porter...?

Bottle, huge thanks Iznogud & Max! Murky brown body, off white head. Nice dry maltiness, bit nutty, bit sticky, sweetish, mild alcohol touches. Taste... Dry, mildly nutty and vaguely chocolatey taste, but soo lean. Just a touch of jam. Nice, but sliiightly too lean. A vague bitterish touch in the finish. Tasty, drinkable, better than the sum of its parts.
