Owing to Hurricane Irene, Tonya was stranded at the airport and unable to fly over to brew for us. Despite this, Tonya was able to assist in brewing her beer from the other side of the world. This dark ale has a citrus-pine-like aroma, tempered by sweet malts and hints of roastiness. There’s a balance between hoppy bitterness and roasted chocolate, in the flavour, and a finish which is long and brimming with hops.

Cask at The Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours a clear, amber-brown with a small, off-white head. Sugary malts in the nose with hints of ripe fruits. Flavor is quite sweet, plenty of bready and toasty malts, light dark fruits, some wood. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Toasty sugar finish, some woody malts and light earth. Pretty standard ESB.
