Dick Cantwell has travelled to Thwaites Brewery, in Lancashire, hosting its first international brewer for us, to brew this beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. This golden-copper, medium-bodied beer has a floral nose and a balanced character, allowing the subtle flavour of jasmine to prevail among its impressive hop flavours. Medallist at the Great American Ale Festival 2013.

Cask at some random weatherspoons in farrington. Orange copper colour with a steadfast white head. Aroma is light floral cardamon. Flavour is sweet parfummed green tea bullshit. This is not a beer it is a try hard attempt at a ’cool’ beer. If you like this you are a hipster asshole. Fuck you.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, October 2013. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweet and sticky with little hop character and no jasmine evident. Forgettable.

Cask @ The Standing Order, Edinburgh [311013]
Amber, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft fruity caramel malts, not much hop here, dull
Taste - caramel malts, floral hops, fruity quite juicy malts, toffee malts, very malty, floral aromatic notes, hint of strawberry oddly, syrupy malts, bit odd, interesting flavours but not all that keen
Palate - Medium body, sweet toffee caramel. Finish - sweet caramel fruity finish.
Overall - Lots of quite syrupy malts in there, over sweet malty for an IPA. To be honest , I was a bit disappointed with this......

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cask. Almost clear amber beer. Tidy white head. Palate is softish and light with low carbonation. Sweetish malt. Light floralness and vague fruitiness. Riding over all is an obvious jasmine. Finishes semi dry. Pretty drinkable.

Cask at the Willow Walk, Victoria, 01/11/13. Clear golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is toasted malts, floral hops notes, light fruit, hint of spice. Taste comprises citrus fruit, mandarin, light floral notes, hint of caramel, touch herbal, toasted malts, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light floral hop bitterness in the finale. Ok but lacks any real depth to it.

Clear copper colour. Aroma has lots of bittersweet citrus peel. Flavour is floral and sweet, maybe this is the effect of the Jasmine.
