Can from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Pours black, small beige head, minimal retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, liquorice, milk chocolate. Very nice. Taste has a lovely balance with sweet milk chocolate contrasting with roast and bitter coffee notes. Very moreish. Medium bodied, smooth, fine carbonation. Excellent.

Cask-conditioned, at the Lime Kiln, Bristol, 30/9/2017. Near black in colour with a creamy, beige, head. A pleasant, sweetish stout, with lots of chocolate and lactose character, leafy hops, toasty malts and a dryish finish with some coffee notes. Excellent.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2016. Black in colour with vanilla in its nose, although whether this is a drawback from using the same festival glass that had a different drink with vanilla in it I am unsure. Has an easy-drinking texture with a light roasted malt aroma and taste.
