Orchard Cornish cider has a light golden, pale straw colour with a distinctly fresh apple aroma. A pleasing bitter-sweet body is finely balanced with a fresh apple flavour, leaving the palate clean and refreshed.
Orchard’s impressive taste is created from local cider apples such as Tommy Knight, Hockings Green, Dabbinet and Yarlington Mill along with the better known dessert varieties Bramley and Discovery. No artificial sweeteners or colourings are used.
Great care is taken in the selection of fruit, and a long cool fermentation during the winter months encourages clean fruit flavours. Triple filtration removes residual yeast and provides a crisp, bright, refreshing cider.

On keg at the Red Squirrel. Appearance - very pale golden. Nose - dry apples. Taste - dry apples again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Not too carbonated which is good. Overall - a decent dry cider.

Keg at the Lyndhurst, Reading. Light gold with an annoying fizz. Tastes of very sweet apples and economy apple juice. Surprisingly dry finish, but still leaves some sticky residue on your lips. In short it’s like an industrial cider that’s actually had some real apples (albeit cheap ones) added at some point. As such, it’s a bit nicer than most industrial lagers. Equally it falls miles short of a decent real lager. A possible stepping stone to get the masses towards real cider, maybe, but not one I’d want to revisit.
