(375ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours dark brown with a big dense lingering tan head and lots of lace. Aroma is kind of odd, with rather oxidized red wine, oak, vegetal herbs, musty, honey sweetness underneath, not really much porter there. With some air, it opens up a bit yielding more dark fruit and malt notes, but not too intensely malty. Flavour is clean, fairly light malts with caramel and light toast along with honey sweetness. Flavour is pretty vinous with red wine notes, a bit of berry, barest hint of chocolate, some oak. Finish is fairly dry, with lightly sweet and lightly tart fruit/malt notes, aftertaste of oak, tannin, very light roast. Body is fairly thin, carb fairly soft, and alcohol mostly hidden. Disappointing really, there’s not much holding up the barrel so while the wine characters are nice they needed the porter structure to match. Feels light and simple when it should be complex. Not bad, not awesome.

Bottle shared during the Cad’s 10th anniversary bash - Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Team Sweden for this one! Pours black with a dense, frothy beige head. Ashy roast dominates the aroma, with nips of coffee, cocoa and earth. Medium sweet flavor with some tangy dark fruits, iodine, earth, burnt wood. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with notes of cocoa, cherry and scorched earth. Not bad.
