On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - deep golden amber with a decent head. Nose - canned mandarin. Taste - mostly toffee malt with a very light mandarin note at the back. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - the nose is better than the taste.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is softish and smooth. Modest fine carbonation. Smooth light malts with a little creamy sweetness and a trace of toffee. Sweet bubblegum ester. Dried fruits and a little apple on the back end. Light semi dry finish. It’s okay.

Cask at the Monks’ Retreat (JDW), Reading. Copper coloured with a loose white head; the aroma has some rye and also berry fruit; full bodies, with a fruity taste that nicely balanced and not too sweet; then a crisp dry finish with some lingering red berries.

Deep nutty color with a finger thick off white head that ends up in a thin layer. Bready, fruity and herbal aroma. Medium body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft to flat carbonation. Caramel, bready, herbal and fruity. To flat carbonation destroyed this one. Could have been quite ok.
