Cask. Rust colored with a creamy tan head. Malty, with some fruit, and light hops. Smooth and easy to drink but not all that exciting.

[bottle] Slightly hazy, amber colour with a short and light-beige foamy head. Woody hoppy nose, combined with toasty malty accents and a moderate sweetness. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Aromatic but also a bit slim and delicately toasted malty taste with notes of toffee, licorice and a woody and slightly herbal hops character. Moderately dry and bitter finish with licorice and toffee in the aftertaste. Not as hoppy as expected but a well-crafted and likeable brew [22.XII.08].

Hal pint, cask at Lamb & Flag in Oxford on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Dark amber with bubbles and lacing. Weak in aroma, only some notes of hay and grass. Discreet flavour of caramel malts and dry bitterness. Very average (15.03.2008).

Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Amber, lasting beige head. It’s an ok bitter, slightly creamy. Light in mouth. Moderate hop. Pleasant bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Hope & Anchor, Bristol 11/8/07. Amber with minimal head. Aroma of apricots with a hint of citrus hops. The flavour inclined toward sweetness with more malt than bitterness. Easy drinking.

Cask at The Museum Tavern. Light hop aroma. Very gold color with a white head trying to lace. Starts light and fruity. Malt is not an issue. There is a following citrus flavor, and a long, mild bitter finish. Quite refreshing.

Bottle picked up at the Palmers Brew Shop, Bridport, Dorset 13-11-06. This was a tasty, good amber coloured beer, quite quaffable beer, but not terrifically hoppy.
