Tetley’s Gold is a glorious, gleaming beer, with a glistening golden hue. It’s crafted from 100% English barley, kilned under the gentlest conditions to produce a malt that’s full of flavour, yet of the very palest colour. An intriguing blend of cuting-edge hop varieties creatively combine to give Tetley’s Gold a sprightly, quenching citrus character. Added layers of complexity follow in the finish; floral, herbal and grassy hop notes intertwine with the subtle suggestion of cloves from the famous Tetley’s yeast strain. Tetley’s Gold is a unique, contemporary beer, at once refreshing and satisfying.

Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a medium sized frothy white head that didn?t last. Aroma is light biscuit malt and orange, similar taste but thin and watery. More light citrus in the finish.

Cask pint in The Raven, Wellington Shropshire on 5th Match 2016. Clean and clear golden pour, steady white cap on top. Thought this a whole lot better than the bottled version I had back in 2014. Refreshing and thirst quenching, floral notes in the aroma, hops led the way flavour wise. Better than I expected.

Cask @ The Foresters Arms in Grassington. Golden ale with a high bitterness but a small fruity aroma and aftertaste.

Cask @ JDW Elgin [090613]
Amber, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - very light pale fruits, very little aroma
Taste of light pale malts, light bitter English hops, soft metallic minerals, some damp hay, odd flavour, bit plasticy, very dull, poor flavour
Palate - Thin and watery, soft bitter mineraly finish
Overall - A 1/4 pint of this stuff was enough. Not pleasant to drink. Watery garbage. Read the description - yeah..... that’s garbage too

On cask at British Oak, Wakefield - A very pretty golden body, with rich creamy head. The nose is pretty boring really, faint herbs, citrus, but nothing that shouts. The taste is pretty much similar, but has a refreshing feel to it all. Nice creamy body, but that’s it. No doubt this will be trumpeted as the future of cask beer in the UK by Carlsberg, but it is just "some beer" really.
