Honeyed wheat beer.

Wave was derived from the inspiration of Bavarian brewing. Much experimentation was required in timing the bittering hops to create a beer with a sweet banana taste at the start and smooth wheaty finish. It has since been heralded as a marvellous representation of Bavarian brewing.

500ml bottle from my local Dobbies garden centre. Poured into a Weissbier glass at home on 25th Jun 2020. Cloudy orange body with floating sediment pieces bouncing around in the lively carbonation. Wheaty and slightly spicy but no banana or coriander for me. A bit weird really.

Cask, half-pint at Old Blackfriars. A wheat haze to a golden body, covering layer. Aroma of ripe banana and wheat. Sweet banana flavours with citric hints, lightly spiced. Sweet wheat fruity end. A rather sweet version of the style. Quite possible to drink (Aberdeen 18.04.2016).

Bottle split at the Tropical Croydonia tasting on melt day, thanks to Scoopester, 01/07/15. Hazed orange topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is light spice, yeast esters, straw, clove, banana. Taste comprises tangerine, clove, straw, yeast, bread, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough example of the style.
