We can understand the buzz around this mead wine. Similar to plums, the damson fruit is small and a deep purple. Its tart flavour balances out the sweetness of the honey and is lovely on its own, or with a little splash of lemonade.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Paul. Pours clear pink with a faint, bubbly head. Nice gooey honey aroma with slight floral notes, hints of berries. Medium sweet flavor with creamy honey, light vanilla, faint bitter berry skins, hay. Light to medium bodied, chewy. Lightly warming to finish, slightly medicinal, with more chewy and gooey honey, faint berry tang. So so.

Bottle from St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall. The colour is rich rose amber. The aroma is fresh, very fruity, sweet, tangy, jammy plums and honey. The taste is sweet, oily, honey, slightly waxy, lots of jammy berry, plum and some warming alcoholwith a more dry finish. Medium bodied and slick, oily mouth - feel. Not a hide amount of depth, but it drinks very easy. Nice jammy fruits and balance.
