A full bodied chocolate ale, with hints of caramel, and that roasted barley aftertaste.

Bottle shared at Daniels place. 20/02/2016. Thanks to Daniel for this one. Mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting thin light tan head. Aroma is earthy farmyard, burnt earthy, charred wood, little jammy fruit. Flavour is composed of dark choc, earthy, tart raspberry, BLACK Forest gateau. Palate is dry and tangy, highish carbonation, some grain tannin. Big flavour, quite earthy.

Bottle thanks to Dirty D. It pours darkest brown with a decent beige head. The nose is earthy, bitter - sweet, plum, prune, candied sugar, sugared plums, vinous, blackcurrant jam and candy. The taste is toast, roasted malt, bitter - sweet, prune, plum, cocoa, tangy dark fruits, jam and charred wood with a short, dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting enough, but I’m not sure the balance is there.

Bottle shared in Richmond - many thanks to Daniel. Pours clear, rich brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma hold toasted brown bread, with hints of cocoa. Light sweet flavor with notes of dry smoke, scorched earth, dried out leather. Light bodied with average carbonation. Drying on the finish with more scorched earth, light baking cocoa, dry burnt toast. Pretty simple but not bad.
