Our Porter is indeed luxurious and full bodied with considerable gravity, but is light on its feet and very drinkable. With a delicate tangerine aroma, and the same rich malty characteristic as our original Porter No.1.

Bottle from Country Market, near Farnham. Dark brown to black with a beige head. Quite a heavy roast. Black coffee, liquorice and a hint of blackcurrant. Dry, bitter finish, although there is some sweetness behind. It's drinkable, but the roast is a bit too heavy for my liking.

Cask at the Tilly Shilling, Farnborough, 03/02/18. Rich black with a well presented khaki head with excellent retention skills - a handsome looking beer. Nose is roast malts, light smoke, dried fruits, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, liquorice, mellow roast, ashen whisper, toffee, dark fruits, brown bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. A solid well presented and flavoursome cask porter.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. The darkest mahogany in colour with a reddish glint and a thin beige head; aroma of well roasted malts witn a hint of coffee; very dry and fruity in the mouth, with sour berries and burnt toast; then a smooth satisfying dry finish leaving a tart fruity taste. Very good indeed, I like the tartness.

Cask at White Hart, Tongham. Enticing chocolate and nuts aroma. Dark, with red tints showing in the light from the window. Good beige head. Light bitter through to sweetness. A sourness in the finish. Coffee and milk. Berries. Restrained in taste but not an issue. Thick bodied. Creamy body, verging on fluffy. Enjoyable, it’s just the sour element to the finish which loses points.
