Cask at the New Leathern Bottle, Warfield. Tawny with a tight cream head; nutty aroma; smooth with a sweet toasted malt taste then a gentle earthy bitterness before a biscuity finish. A basic malty bitter.

Cask handpump at The Exchange, Banbury, Tuesday 8th December 2015. Reddy amber in appearance with a slim off-white head. Malty nose with a little nutty touch. Fruity taste, despite the hop driven comment on the pumpclip it is far from it, in fact there is very little to get excited about with this, Vale can do much better. A boring, earthy, below average bitter. A5 A3 T5 P3 Ov10 2.6
