A truly magnificent ruby coloured beer of premium strength, with a very full malty palate, balanced by a crisp hop flavour and a lingering hoppy aftertaste. As smooth as cream but not for the unwary!

Appearance: Clear dark brown color with a frothy white head that leaves a fine curtain lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malty and a bit fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation. Creamy texture.
Taste: Dark malty, light hoppy and a bit fruity.
Overall impression: An ok handpull ale. Would have been a lot better with some more carbonation.
Personal stats: On tap at Square Peg (JDW) in Birmingham, England.

Hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons on 9th Jan 2013. Clear and bright Chestnut coloured body with a creamy head of white foam. Malts lead the way here in aromas and tastes: hints of dark fruits throught the semi-sweet malty molasses with the hops just about giving some bitterness and dryness towards the end of each gulp. A bit one dimensional but I liked it.
