A full-blown “West Coast” IPA chocked full of sticky hop resins. Melrose is brewed with American 2-row malt and a touch of Canadian “honey” malt to accentuate the tropical and citrusy flavors of the Simcoe and Amarillo hops. This beer is generously dry hopped for an over-the-top aromatic experience.

Bottle thanks to Jeff! Pours a clear gold with a slight amber hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy pine, light onion and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has bitter pine through out with some earthy grapefruit with some earthy grain backing.

Bomber received from a trusty west-coast partner. Enjoyed at fridge temp in stemware. Appearance is on the golden-orange side with a minimal head that fades fast.Nose leans toward clementine / grapefruit with honey and a touch of cloves. Pine resin at the finish on taste but it’s a very juicy beer, west coast in the malt profile but really does a great job making a style of beer I don’t like very palatable. I don’t like most west coast IPAs this is an exception. Mouthfeel is pretty good as well.

Bomber thanks to Nick. Pours a clear orange/copper color with a medium white head. A fresh fruity nose, some green dank hops. Very smooth, oily sweet perfume Amarillo that I love, pine, huge oranges, bitterness, lemon zest, very balanced and crisp. A super smooth in terms of easy going, this is a session IPA. But the overall package is as big as a IIPA. Awesome. Lingering sweet oranges.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a golden-orange color with a medium white head and strings of lace. Aroma of fruity hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter citrusy hops character and notes of tropical fruit and malt. The finish is hoppy with a fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draught at the brewpub. Nice citrus and peach hop nose. Light malt flavor with a bit of honey and a dry, hoppy finish. A good, well-balanced IPA with nice amarillo flavors.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe for Hopfest, pours orange with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus hops and caramel. Flavour is quite tropical fruit heavy, with lots of citrusy hops. Delicious.
