A beer of two halves: refreshingly hoppy up front, followed by a balancing bitterness and a hint of sweetness to finish.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. A bright straw colour with a loose white head; grainy aroma; soft and fruity in the mouth with a grainy body; and a crisp, dry, lingering bitterness. Reminds me of a good pilsner, just the thing to drink while watching your team fail to win (again).

Cask at The Swan, Farnborough. 15/06/16. A light hoppy aroma. Light amber in colour, with a white frothy head. The brewer’s description is pretty accurate, before reading it I’d noted, "initial sweet taste, with a bitter twist, giving way to more sweetness." Pretty light with with a bit of life to it. Have used ’light’ and it is the operative word. Easy drinking but nothing complex. Good for 4 or 5 over a match.
