A fierce and powerful creature was the Black Boar. This huge beast played a massive role in shaping ancient Irish history. Famously the Black Boar killed, and was killed by Diarmuid the warrior while he answered the challenge of his archrival Fionn Mac Cumhaill on the mountain of Ben Bulben in County Sligo. The Black Boar has come to represent resilience. Fitting then that this black, silky Imperial Stout should carry the name of one of ancient Ireland’s most notorious icons.

Description:
An intensely flavoured, big dark ale. Roasty and bittersweet, with a noticeable alcohol presence. Dark fruit flavours meld with roasted coffee and dark chocolate notes to create a very full-bodied, velvety, luscious texture.

Tasting Notes:
Rich and intensely complex flavours of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and robust coffee. Full bodied, with soft carbonation, finishing with a mellow alcohol warmth.

Ingredients:
Water, barley, hops, oatmeal & yeast.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Big thanks to BeersI’veKnown. Pours oily black with a slight, creamy tan head. Big peat aroma, with hints of rubber and chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with lots of gooey chocolate, loads more peat, some earthy bitterness, smoke. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with further sweet cocoa and lingering peat. Great stuff - assuming you can enjoy peat.
