Bottle 0.75l from our archive, the last one from our beautiful Ireland trip. Vintage 2015. Dark brown to black colored, opaque. AROMA- peated, alcohol, roasted malts, dark chocolate, nuts, licorice. FLAVOR- smooth and creamy, quite warming, neutral, moderately bitter, the same as aroma. Fuller bodied. Very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black with a tan head. Aroma of lots of peated whiskey, iodine, wood, a bit of vanilla, alcohol, dark chocolate, roast. Sweet flavor, a bit salty, with a light sourish note, with chocolate, roast, wood, lots of booziness, and lots of peated whiskey. Full-bodied. A bit too much peated whiskey and alcohol.

Dark greige head, not stable; black beer. Cigar, chocolate, Islay malt, roast. Superb balance despite the different vectors: dry, chocolate, Islay whisky, hefty burn. Full bodied, but not thick; some alcoholthinning, just enough carbonation left. Excellent. Ticks all the boxes just right. Whatever its example was, the beer is an enrichment to the scene.

Bottle shared at Cotts Convention ii, thanks to Steve BIK, 05/03/16. Pitch black with a dirty tan head - a decent looker. Nose is peated malt, spice, chocolate, light roast, toffee. Taste comprises wooded notes, dark chocolate, treacle toffee, light peat, smoke, fruit rinds. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a peated rise. Decent enough offering.

Bottle thanks to BIK the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich, oily, bitter – sweet, vanilla, oak, rocky road, smoked peat and slightly medicinal vibe. The taste is rich, bitter, chewy malt, roasted malts, smoked peat, rocky road, vanilla, oak and some alcohol with a warming finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. I thought the barrel aging worked really nicely on this one. Tasty.
