Bud Light Platinum has reinvented the category of light beer. Within each cobalt blue bottle lies a bold formula that’s triple filtered with a smooth finish to create its stop shelf taste. Its the first of its kind, and the only beer worthy of the name Bud Light Platinum.

Bouteille 650ml.

Now in Canada (brewed by Labatt), in 12-pack aluminum bottles. Why is this called Bud Light, when it is a 6% ABV beer ?? Should of been Budweiser Platinum. Anyways, pours a very pale yellow colour with a fizzy white cap that disappears quickly enough, leaving a little lace. Very lively carbonation. Decent aromas of sweetness and citrus at first with some adjunct finally getting in there. The mouthfeel is kind of creamy, real smooth. The taste is light with some corn and sweet malt in the background. Nothing real bad and I guess the one we have here seems better the A-B version in the States (judging by the reviews).

Location: 12 oz bottle at a Tailgate, 10/20/12

Aroma: Not much nose, corn, cereal, and light malts
Appearance: It pours a clear gold color
Flavor: The taste is much the same, corn, light malt, and just a hint of hops
Palate: The body is light, but not as watery as the regular Bud Light
Overall Impression: Better then I expected. Bud light has basically no beer resemblance to it, while this has just a little. Exceeded my (rather low) expectations...

Pours very pale golden with no head or lacing. Light body, medium/light carbonation. Tate is cora malt with a hint of crisp hops. Pass.

Bottle. King of beers indeed. Pours clear light gold with a medium fizzy white head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is grain and corn, Flavor is the same, actually fairly sweet with a corn syrup lightly metallic finish. Kudos for at least not being gross.

I really was expecting to trash this in a review, but was pleasantly surprised. . . not that it was a great beer, but that it was not as bad as I expected. Give them points for the pretty bottle; also I was intrigued by the color. I do not think that a beer could be any paler and not be water. Taste? Heavier on the palate than a typical light beer, but only "meh."

Bottle: Poured a clear pale yellow color lager with a small bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma consists of light sweet malt with well hidden adjunct. Taste is also dominated by sweet malt with no clearly identifiable adjunct but also very limited characteristics. Body is light with average carbonation. I actually drank this side-by-side with a regular bud light and I must say that the platinum is actually better though still quite bland in the grand scheme of things.

Took me a while to score this in my own little way. Looks like pale lager, but at 180 calories, I’m not sure how its a light beer; is this like you know bud light ice? Goes down fairly easy and does a half decent job of hiding the alky but fer sure it does come across like any other pale lager ice beer but perhaps a little more acceptable. Decent co2 there. I swore it smelled a little cooked cabbage at first. Not as impressed as I thought it would be. So, now you have it a macro big wig on the decline. Well, maybe this is a little better tasting than a cheap ice beer. At least it hasn’t brot up the gag reflex.

Had at a cookout this weekend. I really can’t say this beer is much different than Bud Light. There’s a mostly bland, unappealing quality to it - sweet character is unappetizing. I went into this with higher expectations - because many of my friends who aren’t into craft beer hated it - usually that means the beer is actually good and they just don’t realize it, but I have to hand it to them, they were right.

I really don’t want to hate on this just to hate on it, the branding of "Bud Light" to sell products simply because the brand name alone pushes mediocre products to the gullible consumer (See: Bud Light Wheat and Bud Light Lime), it’s just not really that good of a beer.

If you’re going to play calorie counter, you may as well just consume one or two fewer, higher quality beverages. And if you’re buying it because it has a alcohol percentage that clocks in a full 1.8 points higher (aka: "more bang for your buck") you may as well just go get yourself a bottle of cheap vodka - since you obviously are getting drunk and aren’t drinking it to appreciate the taste.
