Seasonal Beer.
Our bokbier that rings in the autumn every year. Dark and full-bodied, but not as sweet as you would expect. The fine, light brown head holds for a long time while the dark, black-brown beer releases the aromas of the roasted malt: brown sugar, caramel and beautiful, dark fruit. The aftertaste is pleasantly dry.

Bottle from Sterk. Pours very hazy amber/brown with a slight beige head. Aroma is med dark fruit and some slightly roasty malt. A bit spicy. Med body or so. Flavor rather matches aroma. It’s a little bitter, but it’s not really dry. Good malty drink.

Keg at the brewpub. Hazed orange / caramel brown coloured pour with a lasting sticky cream head. Aroma is raw grains, earthy toasted malts, hobey, and a little jammy fruits. Flavour is composed if toasted brown bread, honey, caramel, strawberry jam, grain store. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation and done rough grains. Warming alcohol.

0,33 l bottle, bought somewhere in NL, best before 9/2015. Clear, dark red with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish aroma of raisins, nuts, caramel and molasses. Sweetish taste of caramel, nuts, raisins and coffee. Medium long, slightly bitter finish with a solid amount of coffee. Medium body, slightly oily and creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent bock. Round, not overly sweet and with a special note of roasted malts.

Notes from late 80s. Had this every year, from bottle & tap, from the beginning, when this was still a dry-hopped bock bier and when it could be quite different from year to year. This rating from the 1989 version. Dark color. Aroma’s: fresh hops, quite bitter, roasted malts, droppig. Flavor: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Rather dry and bitter finish. Those were the days....

330ml Bottle (Moeders, Amsterdam) - Dark brown in colour. Raisins, toffee and some treacle in the aroma. Malty, fruity and slightly ’chewy’ taste with black treacle, raisins, marzipan and a hint of spice. An enjoyable bock.

33cl bottel, best before 03.2015. Frisch-malziger Antrunk. Leicht süßlich, malzig. Zum Hauptteil hin kommt eine kräuterige Note mit Röstmalz zur Geltung. Feinherb werdend, die Bitterkeit nimmt zu, die Süße tritt in den Hintergrund. Malzig-dickflüssig, nicht zu süß mit einer interessanten Malz-Kräuternote hält sich auf der Zunge, dazu eine dezente Herbe. Spannendes Bier!

Bottle. Nice deep brown with ruby hue and fast disappearing cream head. Very spicy with lots of IJ yeast, some wood, dark burnt caramel, roasted malts and toffee. Nice hoppy bitter finish. Quite dry and not very sweet. Medium bodied. One of the better Dutch bok beers.

een Bokbier, t’ja deze vallen meestal toch wat tegen, maar na dit biertje geproefd hebbende moet ik zeggen deze zit toch wel aan de bovenkant qua waardering van de bokbieren. schenkt donker bruin met licht kaki kraag. aroma van donkere fruiten (rozijn), caramel, chocolade, bruine suiker. smaken zijn moutig, zoet (bruine suiker), chocolade, donker fruit, zwak bittertje glad en zacht in de mond, maar ook iets romigs. tja lang niet zo slecht als verwacht van een bokbiertje..
