Bottle (thanks TBone!). Deep brown colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is smoked wet wood, mild meaty tones with some caramel and mild floral and wooden tones. Flavour is caramel, some toasted, mild smoky, nutty and mild meaty and grainy tones.

Bottle @Les Vignerons (Rome). Bruna, riflessi miele di castagno, schiuma avorio media. Al naso note di malto, toffee, caffรฉ, affumicato. In bocca รจ leggermente dolce all'attacco con chiusura amara media, affumicata. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione media. Non male.

330ml bottle โ Pours an opaque mahogany brown colour with an average sized tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, some chocolate and light smoke that dissipated. A moderately sweet taste, roasted malty taste, sweet caramel, smoky flavours and a woody earthy bitterness to finish.

Cask at the brewery. Sweet caramel herby smoky aroma. Opaque medium brown. Bubbly creamy off white head. Light bitter. A smokey edge. Underlying caramel. Thin. Light. Flat bodied. Slightly astringent finish. A tad forgettable.

Bottle shared at home. Brown with offwhite head. Sweet, roasted, beechwood woody, resiny, smokey dry. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very nice beer. Nice long lingering bitter smoke touched finish.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Bit hazy dark brown with fluffy beige head. Smoked tea, light caramel, chestnuts and hazelnuts, more smoke, ash, sweet malts, dry toffee. Medium bitter, under medium sweet. Just medium bodied with a bit dry finish. But too much smoke for me, but it's well made.
