Keg at Brewdog, Bristol for Collabfest 2016 (from historic tasting notes) . Pours opaque dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, coffee, nutty, burnt wood. Taste: moderate sweet, earthy coffee, carmel, toffee, Christmas spices, light bonfire smoke. Thin bodied, moderate carb, dry bitter close. Wasn't a fan

BD Clap J. Coffee stour aroma. Dark brown in the extreme. Thin beige head. Sweet. Cloyingly so. Light bodied. The coffee comes through. There are spices and creamyness. I told the barmaid I wasn’t keen, she told me it was complex. A sweet stout pretending to be something else.

On tap @ BrewDog, Soho. This one has a deep and dark almost bronze colored body, not far from brown. No head to talk about. It has a nice and interesting aroma. A little burnt, definitely woody. Traces of tar and something "wild". It tastes somewhat thin, almost a little watery - as is the mouthfeel. A little papery, darker types of malts and a little coffee darkness. Softly burnt in the back. Smooths out after a while in the glass. Didn't mind this at all, just it lacks a little body though. 23.10.2016

Keg St the Brewdog shepherds Bush. An oily hit black coloured pour with no head. Aroma is heavy malts, black sugars, little hot alcohol, liquorice and coconut. Flavour is composed of semi sweet smooth roasted malts liquorice, black malts, earthy coffee bean. Palate is medium light, rounded, highish carbonation, woody tannin. Little coconut.

Keg at BD Camden, 24/10/16. Rich mahogany brown with a decent khaki cap. Nose is coffee grinds, charr, spice, cocoa powder, toffee. Taste comprises lighter coffee notes, chocolate, black pepper, earthy dark fruit splat. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid for style but expected a little more from the coffee which fell away a little in the taste.

Keg at BD SB. It pours clear dark Ruby - brown with minimal head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, musty, big coffee character, vanilla, fruity, toasted coconut and dried fruits. The taste is smooth, toasty, light bitterness, mellow roast, smooth coffee character, vanilla, fudge, fruit cake and dried fruits. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth, mellow and nice sweet coffee character. I rather like this.
