Bonfires, Apples, and Toffees
We wanted to harness the evocative sense of the Somerset Autumn in a beer. With the last apple pressing days, dry leaves underfoot and the whiff of bonfires at every corner this beer sums it up, from sweet smoke, warming malt sweetness and hints of apple.
This is a beer to drink post barbecue, scarfs on, stomping against the chill and watching fireworks on a starry night sky.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Fergus. Pours lightly hazy red with a creamy, off-white head. Strong smoke in the nose, some caramel, berries, honey and ham. Light to medium sweet flavour with. Ore dry smoke, wheat, lots of ham and gooey honey, a little orange peel. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more smoke, candied ham, dried caramel. Fun stuff.

Caňa en Cimmeria 25..05..2017. (r14). Color marrón oscuro turbio con espuma beige oscuro que desaparece al poco casi por completo. Sabores maltosos y cereales tostados con ahumados ligeramente caramelizados al calentar. Especias. Cuerpo ligero a medio algo fino y espumoso fácil de beber. Original. Buena.

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour with an orangey tinge and an off-white foam head leaving some spotty lacing. Nose of smokey bacon rinds, some toffee. Taste is mellow, grains, pale malt, caramel, smoke, note of bacon, fruity apple hints, and a light bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying finish. Quite drinkable.

330ml bottle from the Brewery Online Shop. Shared at work. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head. Aromas of smoke up front, caramel, faint apple. Taste is more smoke, sweet caramel. Apple is quite subtle. Smoke dominates. Sweet finish. Interesting.
