KoekeDam is our own interpretation of the saison style with the addition of a French saison yeast. An American hop sort and a small quantity of spelt malt give a fresh undertone. KoekeDam is the ideally refreshing beer!

Une chose est certaine, la brasserie Het Nest est un maître de l'équilibre. Elle le démontre encore avec cette KoekeDam, qui se voudrait être une saison..... et là je suis plus perplexe. Je l'apparente davantage à une Belgian À le, sur une bonne fraîcheur houblonnée d'ailleurs avec un EBU de 40. De couleur blond dorée (EBC à 25), voilé, notre bière est surmontée d'une mousse aérée blanche de 5 mm. Les arômes sont sur le fruits (pomme, pêche et orange), le pain et la coriandre. L'attaque est très fraîche, sur une amertume fraîche et herbacée prenant quelque peu le pas sur les arômes fruités et la coriandre. L'équilibre entre malt et houblon arrive davantage en seconde bouche avec les arômes de fruits, suaves et l'amertume herbacée qui se répondent. On est tout de même encore loin d'une saison, mais on apprécie. L'arrière bouche manque toutefois d'ampleur. La longueur, sur un bon élancement nous le fait vite oublié, tout en nous faisant oublier que nous dégustons une saison, avec un final sur une amertume franche accompagnée de coriandre. C'est plutôt simple mais efficace. A déguster en toute saison.

Bottle. Hazy deep gold with thick lace. Nose is honey malts, rich, thick, and bit of funky spicy yeast, orange, nectarine. Sweet and spicy with a dry finish. Ok.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Slight haze gold colour lasting white head. Light saison more like a Belgian blond. Light esters. Light malts. Some oeach and lemon and apricot. Some hop on the finish. Light bitterness. Decent blond.

Unclear, golden yellow colored, medium white head, nice lasting. Aroma is fruity and spicy mostly, saison yeast, some brewing sugary notes, straw and lemon. Taste is medium sweet malt, bit sugar, fruity and spicy notes, saison yeast, some citrus, straw, medium spicy and herbal bitterness, dryish finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, oily.
