A huge complex Imperial Stout, brewed with a blend of seven different malts and aged on vanilla pods and cocoa nibs. So viscous it stains your glass, and dangerously drinkable for the ABV.

18/5/2019. Bottle from Tall Boys Beer Market, Leeds shared at the Warsaw GP beer share. Pours very dark brown with a frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, liquorice, coffee and molasses. Moderate sweetness, medium plus roasted bitterness. Medium to full body, slick texture, above average carbonation. Bitter roasted finish, lovely aroma.

Craft Islington. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy dark tan head. Palate is airy and dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Roasty dark malts and bitter coffee. Little dark chocolate and a trace of cherry. Bit harsh but okay.

Draught at Craft Islington. It pours pretty dark... black with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, plenty of coffee grounds, cocoa umami, liqourice and a hint of soy sauce. The taste is pretty bitter, rich roasted malt, coffee, pretty charred, umami, mild acidity, spice, tar, some astringency and cocoa with a charred coffee finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A bit too charred for my liking. OK.

Keg at CBC Islington, 26/04/17. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is light roast, spice, charr, dark chocolate, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises chocolate cake, toffee, dried fruits, liquorice, molasses, mellow roast malts, ligh ashen tones. Medium + body, fine carbonation, oily feel with a light warming booze nip in the close. Solid easy drinking impy stout ... masks the 9% ABV well.
