[March 2022] Near black with a creamy off-white head and a lovely aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla. Smooth and creamy, luscious chocolate and vanilla taste with roasted malt and a just a touch of dry bitterness in the finish

Cask at the Peterborough beer Festival 2019. A hazed dark brown coloured pour with a a loose dark beige head. Aroma is some woody roasted malts, tar, neopolitan ice cream, dark choc. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody roast, lactose sweetness, creamy, butter dark chocolate. Some strawberry. Palate is slick and creamy, moderate cask condition. Fine.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark with an off-white creamy head. Has a nutty coffee aroma and taste with the latter certainly dominant, and it lingers in its aftertaste. Has a gentle texture.

24th July 2018; cask half-pint in The Station Hotel, Oakengates Shropshire. Really impressed with this, loved the smoothness and slickness of the body and it's vanilla front. Pours a dense black, tanned crown on top. Intense chocolate and vanilla nose, which proceeds the flavours of the same kind in the taste. Lovely beer all round.
