Bottle, Dodgi’ Deli’ Cowley Road 21-05-08 Pours v.dark brown with tan head, some sourness on the nose, fruity and a bit sour in the mouth I don’t get creamy, hoppy, smokey, or chocolate as per description, in short this is a pretty poor stout I’m afraid to say.

500ml bottle from Cask & Glass, Tonbridge. Black with dark brown edges. Lasting beinge head. Lots of dark plums, damsons on this choccy stout. Blackcurranty nose, with some dark choc. Almost vinousaroma. Really quite complex. Touch of vanilla. The fruit is very good indeed. Even some sourness towards the end. Think of a damson dark chocolate liquer that you had at your aunties at Christmas and you are on your way. Nelson recently certainly have seemed to have turned the corner. Some powderyness in the mouth. But overwhelmingly juicy dark fruits that veer towards the sour.
