Keg at Forest Road. It pours jet black with massive tan head. The aroma is earthy roast, umami, meatiness, cacao nibs, liquorice and a bit of rocky road. The taste is dry, bitter, earth roast, toasty, bitter, liquorice, peppery spice and coffee grounds with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent Schwarz by all accords.

Keg at the King’s Arms. A mostly clear mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting beige head. Aroma is nutty malts, earthy chocolate powder, vanilla extract, light dried fruits. Palate is medium light, slightly tangy, moderate carbonation, grainy. Flavour is composed of earthy nutty malts, light smoked malts, mineral, hint of powdered chocolate,. Not bad.
