Our second Abstrakt release of 2018 comes in the form of an intense bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout, with none other than Uncle Duke's. At 11.5% and with 6 months spent in bourbon barrels, it has resurfaced as a smouldering but gentle beast with layers of flavour. This beer is enkindled with the sweet notes of molasses, rich dark chocolate and campfire coffee giving whisps of smoke and charred wood followed by a warming bourbon finish.

375ml bottle. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of whisky, roast malts, liquorice, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet, roast malts, dark chocolate, liquorice, whisky barrel, bitter, very boozy finish. Medium body. Good but doesn't hit the heights of Paradox Uncle Duke's.

375ml bottle. Grainy sticky toffee. Easy to drink, deep caramelly. Refreshing and slightly grainy with a roasted toffee finish. Creamy sticky caramel, moderate rosted bitterness, nice soft and very deep.

Black with lasting head. Aroma is dry and woody. Flavour is similar but delivers plenty of Bourbon sweetness too. Pleasantly dry throughout. Very subtle level of alcohol.

19/02/2019 - 1/3 pint @Brewdog Brussels. Dark brown, just a tanned lacing. Nose is dark malts, sweet alcohol. Taste is dark malts, chocolate, sweet booze, bit smoke. On the thin side for a heavy ABV Brewdog. Dissapointing
